Heh, Mr Fudsion is an awesome idea. The original one was made from a coffee machine.

You should pull up at a busy servo, pull out a retractable power lead and start looking for a power outlet around the pumps.

is it true you must have some sort of sticker/badging stating its an EV? any design/font ideas?

my next project will definitely be electric, hopefully into a ke26 panel van.

    Cheers cheers

    More videos to come soon.
Now that I can get out of 1st, will do some power runs & hopefully collect some useful info.

Yer just need some standard high voltage warning labels around the car.
Will prolly make up something cool too, need a copy of the 'sera' font for new badges, grin.

TG AUS or TGUK? They have just made one in the new series, and in true TG form, it's awful

    *edit* linky

Not just awful, but plain stupid.

I thought they were actually going to try to make something decent, but no, of course not
    Worst segment on TG ever.

    c'mon.

Did anyone expect them to have a serious go? Entertainment, not technical expertise.

Just have a look at 90% of their other efforts... maximum entertainment, minimal sense or actual drive to achieve their goal

edit: but I agree. for a segment that took up about half the show, it was utter, utter rubbish, and did nothing but annoy me the whole time.

Unlike the first amphibious cars episode, which was equally daft but funny as hell

Got to watch that this evening...

Sounds like the top gear AUS Guys made a better effort

    Small update.
Have to make a few minor mods to battery box connectors to get my battery gauge working correctly.
Will most likely be having another decent test run toward the end of the week, boot / bonnet on etc...

I tried tracing the logo a while back, there is a layer in this photoshop document with the paths you could use...

Default No pistons, no fuel, no worries! Toyota Sera EV Conversion, Almost Done!

    Minor Update
    Thursday, 3 December 2009

Finished some minor re-wiring of the battery box so my e-pro gauge works correctly, now setup & calibrated.
Had to re-locate the brake vacuum pump, & rubber mount it… as it is seriously annoying (even though it only runs for 10 seconds at a time).
In the process of building a circuit to handle / clean up the magnetic tacho pickup for the zilla / dash tacho outputs.
Made a neat little logo sticker thingo for it @ work yesterday, (thanks to Scuzzy for the vector graphics)

Hope to have the bonnet / boot back on this weekend for a decent test drive!
