you could begin by trying to spell. this not a "txt" based site.

haha...this thread could end in tears...

For a start, I'm going to assume that you're using this drift car on *proper* tracks, and we're going to need a lot more information.

For a start...you cut the springs. MASSIVE no-no. First step is to make it handle. You'll want (budget option)
    King springs,
KONI (or other) sports shocks (NOT pedders/munroe etc etc.)
Swaybars front and rear (see whiteline.com.au)

The other option is to adapt coilover suspention in the front, I think that silvia front suspention is an fairly easy transfer, but I'd stick with the kings/other and good shocks in the rear.

After that, spend a LOT of time driving it, getting a feel for it, and playing with this setup and tuning it. After a while you'll reach the limits of the standard power, but make sure you can use EVERYTHING it can give before you do add power.

Powerwise, your easiest and cheapest option is most likely a 1G-GTE conversion, search the forums for this, there are some really, really nice Coronas here.

That should give you a very good, adustable drift car. During the course, you'll most likely need to upgrade the clutch, brakes, and handbrake, and possibly change to a proper LSD.

    Guys guys,
I think most of you are missing the point and knocking the young fella unnecessarily plus suggesting some very costly modifications which probably arn't at all needed.

Firstly the cut springs are totally fine, just remember a loud clunk and one corner sagging after hitting a levy bank could mean one has fallen out!
Secondly welding up the diff is perfect for skinny 2nd handies on dirt - definatly much more cost effective than rare and possibly stuffed factory lsd.
Thirdly I'm a bit confused at the extractors and sports zorst... thats a bit expensive for this project unless found in the local tip... I would have simply cut the original off in front of the cat.
Fourth I would advise getting a top quality washable air filter as dust is the enemy of ALL engines including D.R.I.F.T. engines. Make sure to clean and oil it after every thrash session.
Fifth I'd say have your uncle or someone who can weld help you make up radiator and sump bash protection - it will save you quite a lot of hastle in the long run!
Sixth while the welder is out get a bit of a rack put up top for mounting some spotlights and cut a sunroof so you can get the rifle into action quickly without having to make noise opening the door!

After all D.R.I.F.T. = Dirty Rusty Infested Farm Truck right?

i think that you are a bit hard on the young fella
he has come to the forums seeking advice , not criticism , [we were all young once
in my case it was a long time ago] , give the guy a break , we are above all that shit
and most of us have asked for advice on these forums at one stage or another,
and this is what the forums were designed for , or am i wrong
    cheers

to start with, drive it. then when you work out what the weak points are, upgrade those.

Springs are cheap, get some custom wound heavy duty coils 2-3inch lower then standard. Then just find the closest commodore short stroke shocks for the rear, may need to swap the bushes from your current shocks over to adapt them (may be worth buying new shock bushes to suit the corona as the old ones are probably shagged).

Front measure up the strut. Go through shock books and find something out of a heavier car and use that to control the stiffer springs.

Swaybars, leave the front, see if you can run dual stock rear swaybars. Have seen a few R31 skylines done this way, might be worth a look.
    If in doubt power out

ahh that should reduce traction nicely

mayeb even swap the front one onto the back

just drive it to begin with. when things break, and they will, then learn to replace them

starting by swapping in different cars suspension is not a good way to start.

    thank you for using english

I'm way too lazy right now to look it up, but there's a guide on these forums about swapping S13 front struts etc in (remember that *A6x celicas, celica supras, and coronas all share the same front end) which will help you out plenty.

Pod filter *is* worth it, but it's very important to have it breathing nice cold air, if you mount it in the engine bay without sheilding and a good CAI it will decrease power. You'll probably get a similar result with a good filter in the standard airbox and a nice fat CAI pipe feeding it. Right now, handling is where it's at for you, so spend most of your time and effort on this. If you're drifting it, keep an eye on the water temp (a bigger radiator might be needed down the track), and I'd install an oil cooler as well.
