    Default 2tg hybrid with sc12

Hi all, my engine is as the title says with a sc off a 4agze and running ITBs. I've a problem with the boost level and just would like to know what's the opinion of you guys here. My problem is that I'm only seeing something like 6psi at full throttle 1st/2nd gear pulls and high throttle opening cruise--something like >50% throttle @ >3k rpm. But I will get about 11psi(which is what the normal sc12 suppose to give) running low throttle cruise 20-30% throttle @ >2.5k rpm. Is there a problem with the sc itself or is the engine flowing more than what the sc can give?

hey mate, from my understanding the sc12 puts out 8psi and the sc14 puts out 11psi... will wait for someone else to confirm

    cheers

it's general knowledge that a bigger crank drive pulley will give you a bigger boost level and since I dun stick with the stock engine config thats what I did. And I'm actually making 11psi but only if I dun crack the throttle.

    On what engine?

The SC12 and SC14 can only push so much air.
If you put them on a higher capacity or higher reving engine than they were made for, youll get less boost pressure.

You also connot always just fit a larger pulley to up the pressure.
Superchargers have a max operating RPM (12,000rpm for the SC12 and 10,000rpm for the SC14 from memory), if you go over this youll kill the supercharger pretty quickly.

And another thing to consider is age.
SC12 and SC14's are getting old now... lobes wear which reduce how well they can pump air.

Probably a silly question but you are measuring the boost after the ITBs aren't you?

this on a 2tg/3t hybrid, revs dun go over 6.5k at this moment. It's a wide accepted mod with an xtra 10mm over drive pulley will able to up the boost level by 3-4 psi so I'm guessing it's save? How do I measure/know for sure the sc12 is running out of steam powering a 1800cc engine? Hmm and this is running on a pretty restrictive exhaust

boost is measured after itbs or else you flood the engine with fuel when you go hard off throttle.

    Maths.
Work out how fast your SC is spinning at engine red-line.
If you are spinning the SC to 10,000 RPM at red-line, then you know you cant push the SC any further.

How much power is the car making? With the right mods a hybrid could be able to ingest more air than a 4AGE which inturn would drop the measured boost...

these are only the numbers on paper and I'm still not at engine redline when I get the boost drop. For a 1800cc hybrid how would I know if I might or might not be flowing more than a 1600cc 4agze? Have anyone here measured what a 2tg hybrid flows?

power on this engine was not dynoed. If I were to floor the throttles I can see that the boost stays at about 6psi from the time the sc is powered on right up to redline, and if I lift off throttle anywhere in between the rpm range I see the boost able to hit 10-11 psi. At 6k rpm I was way over 180km/h with the speedo needle at max.
