    Condolences to James's family...

Twenty-Eight told me this arvo... It's really hard to hear news of the passing of someone you know. I knew he was struggling a bit, but honestly thought he was doing better every time i saw him. He was sharp, friendly, funny, a skilled driver and always willing to help. He has helped out many people and wanted nothing in return.

Two stories involving James come to mind...

Last year I had just modified my intake setup, but hadnt had a chance to do any tuning. It was a Thursday night and I was leaving on Friday to go to Winton for the 6 hour relay. I was coming back from an interstate trip that night - I had spoken to James earlier that night and he offered to help me do some road tuning on the wolf with a laptop and his dad's AFR kit when i got back. My plane was delayed and I didnt arrive at his place til 10.30 -11pm. Anyway, we set up the laptop and the kit and off we went - fanging around Seaford's industrial estate til some dude sleeping in one of the factories threatened to call the cops. (So we moved down the road) We got rid of the lean spots and it ran like a champ. I let him take the car for a spin - He had never driver my car before, but drove it like a pro, he worked out the handling limits quickly and I was very impressed with his driving skills.

James came with us to the Winton fun day we attended this year. He hammered that supra! Boiled over several different fluids, killed his alternator and fried brakes... But man, did he have fun. He surprised many cars that should be quicker on the track. His battery ran out of charge 1/3 of the way home. We switched his battery for one from another car. Got him going then sandwiched him on all sides in a convoy at night, (while he drove with no lights on) until the injectors stopped pulsing as we pulled in at his mates place in Sunshine. Talk about a McGuyver effort.

James - You were a top bloke... You'll be missed by many. Rest in Peace...

Ross and family, I'm so sorry to hear this news.

I've met James a few times, he's come for a spin in my car and always tells me I had something to do with him getting a JZA80.

Last time I saw him he'd made a marathon 11 hour drive to come to Toyotafest in Sydney, before heading straight home and back to work, an amazing effort! We had a good chat about Supras, the world and everything and I'm surprised and sadenned at the news, as I'd have never had any idea.

He was also pretty active on SupraForums and I've posted the news there

    RIP James.

Met him quite a few times and he was always in the same situation of too many plans for the MA61 and not enough time/money to make them happen. The amount of times he drove from VIC just for a Dyno Day or ToyotaFest showed his dedication and love for Toyotas.

Only met James the once when we drove over, and I'm glad I did. He was a top bloke and when I saw this thread, I was hoping it wasn't true. He'll be sorely missed, a true character, a valuable forum member, and just a generally top bloke. RIP dude.

    Hi,

My thoughts are with the family.

James was a great guy. I spent some time speaking to him at ToyotaFest and on the forums. He will be missed.

So sad to hear of his depart, but I am sure he is now at peace, immersed in light and love. He looks down upon us. And, when it is our time, we shall join him.

I lift a beer upwards and smile at the sky "Here's to you James, and sweet memories. See you soon"

    with respect

its upsetting to know i will never be able to meet him and thank him for all the help he has given me from back in the days of the old toymods to now,

I wish his family and friends all the strength they need to get through a tough time,

I dont know if this is appropriate or not but i think "the olds" from nissan silvia maybe able to offer some support and advice

My thoughts and wishes with James family and friends.

I stayed with James in the hotel at Toyfest 08, it was a pleasure to meet and know such a wonderful person. Trent (trent-ke30) and myself exchanged many laughs and thoughts together while we stayed with him. His company was always welcomed and James was known to all that met him as a top bloke.

Ross, i cant imagine how difficult it has been for you but thank you so much for informing us.

James, rest in peace mate, keep a few on ice for me bud!

I just cant believe this. I really cant. Ive always admired him, both had RA60's and he'd help me with basically every stupid question.

He was such a great guy, makes it so much tougher.

    Sorry to his family.

I'm deeply shocked. I only really got to meet James properly this year, when i started up working just around the corner from his work. Caught up a few times even have a chat on our lunch breaks. He was always really passionate about all things cars and especially his own toyotas/supras. A true genuine person who was up for always helping out a fellow toymodder. I was actually looking forward to attending the dyno day so i could catch up with him.

    Condolences to Ross & Family

    RIP
