Majority of "hiflows" ive seen/used have been extremely laggy as they aren't matched overly well (plus other issues). instead of going thru all the pain of trying to get this one sorted just rebuild the old one or put a GT2860r on it and be happy with the results.

I am going to try to pretension actuator more as turbo builder rekons manifold pressure is forcing the gate open to earlier as the t28 actuator is not suited for this hiflow version.. Its also oil cooling only is anyone wants to know

Hmmm something is wrong somewhere. Its still a baby turbo and to see full boost around 5200 rpm is too late for me.

I was running this bush bearing turbo and seeing a full 30 psi by 5000rpm

Also is it true about the run in on turbos.. After run in of the turboshould it be faster response time as the bearing as settled in and less friction on the shaft.

What turbo specs yo want? the one pictured or my new one.
Yeah its a 4a the one in my avatar.

    Engine is pretty much std

As for run in....... bit of a myth. There would be some benefit after time but youd never really notice it.

That turbo was a turbonetics T60-1 comp wheel with a 13b rear wheel in a 12a rotary core.

The new one is a GT3540

the front comp size .. rear wheel size . rear housing ?.. I just cant see why yours can spool so fast with a massive turbo , what ecu do you have?

    Me neither!
My comp cover was a .7a/r
The rear wheel was bigger than the one you have.....cant remember exact size but it was around 60 odd mm.

I recon there is issues somewhere...... prob with the turbo wheel matchings. Like you said my old turbo was bigger and boost far quicker.

Get that gate sorted and go from there.

Yeah but isnt yours 65 in total? my old one i think was about 60 odd mm at the exducer the actual wheel was bigger.
I dont have the turbo any more so i cant give exact measurements.....im only guessing
I did a bit of a side by side pic. Assuming the turbo flanges are about the same size as each other in both pics you can see the difference in wheels sizes.......which is abit

Regardless of the wheels sizes....... it should be boosting quicker than it is.
