bearings?..
Had this problem for a while now. When my car get's to around 100kmh the steering wheel vibrates left and right slightly. It also does it a lot more under braking, the pedal feels fine though.
I've changed my steering rack bushes over, I've tried 3 sets of wheels all with hub center locating rings and the correct wheel nuts, I've replaced the front rotors and I guess my next step is to replace all the front bushes.
Any ideas on what this could be? I'm hoping it's just an old worn bush.

wobble on braking felt threw steering wheel is generaly warped front disks but i dont think that they could be that far out to start a wobble at 100kph
you can change your wheels but they can all be out of balance still, your going to have to try process of elimination.
do you have a pit or a hoist you can have a good look at it ?
i dont have a funny or cool signature.
Checked the bearings when I did the disks, they're fine and I've had the wheels balanced when I bought them, brand new wheels too so they're not warped. The rotors are brand new, like I've only done about 300k's on them and they wobbled from the moment I put them on so that's not the problem either.

OK, so.
Your problem started when you installed your new rotors? or was there beforehand?
If your wobble is present while driving and increased under braking, then the problem is well established...

are your tyres actually round? do they have runout?
some cheaper tyres are more oval shaped and can have those issues

Even if they're 300km old, you can still have warped them. Or you could have improperly mounted them (i.e. there's some crud between the two mounting surfaces and they're not sitting flush on the hub).
If as you say, the problem is significantly worse under braking, this is what it has to be. My car has the same problem along every commodore in existence.
Check your rotor runout. I BET you will be surprised.
Alternately, it is not at all unheard of for rotors to require balancing, just like any object that is part of any of the rotating assemblies in / on your vehicle. Many a set of rotors i've freshly machined which haven't eliminated the vibration (although runout was present) have required balancing.
ALSO, if your pads don't have alot of friction material left on them (less than 3-4mm), this will exacerbate the problem. Fresh pads will reduce the vibration.

The problem has existed with the old rotors and pretty much since I bought the car. Pads have plenty of meat left on them. I've got toyo r1r's on the front, so yes, they're round. The pedal feels fine when braking, there is no pulsing or anything like that. I'm intending on getting better brake pads in the future so I'll get the rotors machined at the same time.

checked the front alignment recently or at all?

Check shocks, lower control arm bushes, castor rod bushes, tie rods. Also ensure your pads are wearing evenly. Make sure your castor rod front mount locations are securely bolted to the chassis.
I'm with Viper here. Check the bushes and lca ball joints. My sprinter originally had similar characteristics due to worn ball joints and bushes.

Were any of the wheels freshly balanced? I know it's obvious and it's been suggested but you haven't mentioned having had it done.
Does sound like rotors though........+1 on having them machined.
If it has been there since your rotors were new, check that they are mounted properly and flat.
Also jack the front up and give the wheel a shake from left-right and top-bottom. You'll feel if there are any clunks and should be able to work out what's up. I've had shagged tie-rods causing it before.
