Default Need 4Y-E Engine Vacuum Hose Information

    Hello,

On my 1986 Tarago Van (EFI, 4Y-E, 2.2L), there is supposed to be a sticker, beside the engine, with a schematic diagram showing where all the vacuum hoses are supposed to go to. If someone has this information, can they photograph or scan it for me?

    Cheers: Crisby.

I don't know of that sticker, but I swapped one of these engines a while back and may be able to remember how things were or check on photos.

What did you need to know?

Incidentally I also found that most of them aren't critical for running the engine.

Thank you JetspeedCamry! The photo is about the same size as the remnant of the sticker on the engine bay. Where did you find it?

I'm trying to get this vehicle registered, having been out of rego for 8 months, while I struggled to replaced the cylinder head. Is it time for the wreckers?

Regarding air hoses, I suspect there is some problem with the air system on this EFI vehicle. It idles rough, and when "blipping" the throttle, the engine stalls before reving up. All the spark plugs are sparking. When driving, it only has the power of about 3 cylinders.

Thanks again for the photo, I'll print it out and mount it next to the engine to replace the original sticker.

    Crisby.

    Hello Hen,

I think you were with a thread regarding Code Number 11 (load signal circuit) of the Self Diagnosis Codes. I think it is something to do with air conditioning. I don't have air con, but always have code 11 displaying.

Regarding the air hoses, most of them probably aren't critical for running the engine, but work with the control unit for optimum performance and reduction of emmissions. However, I have a problem with rough idleing and reduced power. All the spark plugs work, but when I accelerate from idle, the engine stalls first, before picking up. It seems to only have the power of three cylinders.

I have put a new cylinder head on, and initially the engine seemed fine, until I tried to adjust the idle. So I thought there may be a problem with the air somewhere (a leak?).

Do you happen to know where I might find an "Air Flow Duct" (joins the air flow meter/air cleaner with the plenum chamber. The original is torn.

    Cheers.............Crisby.

That code 11 I had, as you probably read, was because I had forgotten to plug the TPS in (took me a year to discover).

I would have been able to help you with an air duct a while ago, but it got ditched with me thinking "who would ever need one of them...". But hopefully a few calls to wreckers should find you one.
