The car is of course running fine again now.
ECU Is throwing no codes, I'm going to see if I can get it to start running badly, then take double check the codes, and see what it says then.
ECU Appears fine, no blown caps, and no leaking anywhere. Basically looks brand new inside.
Am now going to go and check codes and see what happens from there.
Reading around, while looking at cap issues, people with similar issues seem to have resolved it by replacing Caps, injectors, or coil packs.

It can be very hard to see leaking caps without removing them.
Just replace them all, it isnt hard to do and costs cents
Removed my coil packs today, and found severe cracks in #3 and #6.
I have fixed these up, and am waiting for the stuff to dry, before applying heatshrink, and testing the car again tomorrow.
So if thats not the issue, at least another problem is solved.
You can borrow my ECU for an afternoon to test that if you need to.

Thanks mate, I might just have to do that.
More updates, for those that care
I spent a lot of time searching, and found a thread on TC.net by Brad, basically going through the exact problem I am having.
http://forums.toyotacressida.net/for...ght=capacitors
He was having issues with the injectors either staying open, or sticking?
I have now repaired the coil packs, as suggested by a couple of other threads, and the issue is still there.
I am getting wet plugs on both Cyl 3 & 5, and the rest are fine.
Also, turning the ignition to on, with no plug in cyl 3, ends in there being a lot of fuel in cyl 3. Cyl 1 is empty of fuel at this time.
Taking the injectors out looks interesting, but I am working on that now.
Herus
Take the offer to borrow a ecu to try before you start pulling stuff apart. Your problem comes and goes that points to the ecu, i have seen this problem before and will see it again![]()
Its constant now, doing it all the time.
Herus, guess what happened to mine, after doing exactly what you first described!
Definitely borrow another ECU and have a check.
Great!
Im getting some details that even replacing the caps wont fix the problem, which isnt good.
I already got half way through pulling my injectors out before I got the messages saying dont do it, so they are already removed.
turns out most of the O-rings are rooted anyway, and still needed to be replaced, so at the very worst, ive fixed issues that may have occured later.
And make sure you start with the ECU first!
Hopefully that resolves the issue.
the above reply/statement doesnt make any sense?
and for the record, it is 100% blown ECU.
i agree on the ecu being bad. i made aconversion harness to now run a newer x90 ecu.
What doesnt make any sense EldarO?
I am going to attempt to get my Caps today, going to be hard tho, as I'm going to be no where near a computer that I can actually use...
