    Ok, so your getting open circuit as well. Is yours up and running now?

    I wonder what is inside the rotor, maybe it has some kind of spark gap in it.

    Back to square one.
    Tried the dizzy cap and rotor button I got from Dave..........nothing.
    Tried the ignitor, dizzy cap and rotor button from Dave............nothing.

    I thought the motor wasn't even turning over but I got a helper to have a look and the fan is spinning, it just sounds like there is very little load on the motor when crank...well less than usual.

    I think I am going to do a comp test.

    chris: further to my PM - are the two arms connected electrically?

    rob: is the timing belt still turning?

    Car still isnt on the road, had problems with CBC "claiming" that they could supply a timing belt tension pulley. Toyota wanted $170 with a 4 week wait so I have just machined up a new pulley so it can all go back together.
