Default Camry Ativa 6cyl question re fuel usage

    Hi Guys,
Vehicle is 4years old and runs like a dream except for the fuel economy. Toyota replaced the 'computer' when about 9 months vintage, to fix a slight pinging problem. I have replaced air filter many times and likewise engine oil & filter.
I fill from same pump (premium UL) and religiously record Klm and Litres added.
I live and work at Hornsby (northern Sydney) and seldom drive in stop start conditions.
Latest fill was 19.4 litres for 93.7 Klm, which equates close enough to 19Lit/100Klm.
Every Saturday night I drive from Berowra to Wyong on the F3 and fill up going and upon return. Trip usually costs close to $30 - with only two adults on board. Spoke to two Toyota dealers re connecting their analyzer / tester gadget to locate the problem and got similar answers 'a couple of hundred to have a look' ---- sheish!!!
Any suggestions would be really appreciated, or name of someone / company who isn't a rip off, in the Hornsby or Gosford areas.

Could be a number of things but i would be looking at the Oxy sensor as possibly the cause / fault ..

Has it always been hard on fuel or just started recently or after the comp change ?

    Fuck that.

Get them to plug in their OBD2 Hand controller (unsure what the toyota one is called). And have a look and quote on repairs. If it is the computer then it should be parts warranty.

Changing the computer would have cost you an absolute arm and leg, generally they just update the software. 20L/100km is hardly reasonable.
