need help installing e58 driveshaft seal

hi im having trouble installing the seals for the driveshafts in the gze lsd gearbox
i am using the biggest socket in my 3/4 drive set with a lick of grease on the outside and gently taping on the the seal so it goes in even
so far i have damaged the inner flat piece on 2 seals

what am i doing wrong what should i use
