With my 28 i used the original mounts from the 28 - I see people seem to have alot of trouble with this but mine just bolted straight up and haven't had an issue yet.
So I don't see the issue so many people have.
Hope this hepls

Greetings All,
I've searched and searched. I know this question has been asked numerous times, and I apologize ahead of time for needing clarification. I'm in the states, so be gentle and forgive my ignorance. I've read numerous responses that I need the fabricated steel mounts, not the cast alloy ones. The question I have is what do these mounts come out of? I also read that these mounts would be on the 1gge, and I found that the 1gge was in the Supra GA70. Is this correct? Would these be the same mounts on say the 7m, or any of the other generations of Supras, like the 5m? If not, anyone have the part numbers or other information for the mounts I need so I can order a set?
Thanks,
Joshua

Rosie is correct the motor mounts that most of us have used are the RA23 items. I assume from your question that you are refering to the mounting brackets that attach to the 1GGTE block. You are correct they are the ones from a GA70 (and I believe there some other sources). They do need a slight modification - one of the holes need to be weldered up and redrilled a few mm away. If you look at the convesrion threads you will find 'instructions' that do cover all of this. Just one comment - I found that it was better not to use the 10mm spacer plate but to use the lhs motor mount on the rhs upside down and the same use the rhs on the lhs upside down.
Cheers Craig
Mounting brackets i used required no modifications and bolted straight up -
The motor was from a GX71 mark 2 apparently.

Yeah, I mean the brackets that bolt to the four holes on the engine in the mid-mount position, not the piece that's on the crossmember holding the rubber bushing. I've read through a lot of the conversions, but couldn't find anything that said 'use this bracket from this car'. If I'm ordering new, I want to be sure!
So the whole cutting and welding on the crossmember that I read about in the conversion threads isn't really required? Thats good! I'll see what I can find out tomorrow about getting the part around here.
Thanks again,
Joshua
the only time you will need to make your own mounts is when you use a TA x-member
If you use the standard RA x-member no problems

Alright, just returned from the local Toyota dealership and no dice. The only bracket that was available would be the one out of a MX7# Cressida and Supras with the M series engines. I have a part number of 12315-41071. Anyways, they stated they could order probably order it if I had a part number, they just don't have any catalogs showing the cars I need. I did a bit of searching, and found an old thread with the part numbers from a GZ20 in it.
12311-70070 for the right hand side and
12315-70050 for the left hand side
Would these be the correct units for a bolt in without mods? I've also found a lot of pictures of the units I need...if it was only as easy as taking those in and saying I need these here!
Thanks again,
Joshua
Update: Can't get the above part number from a US dealer, because they are not a 'Toyota North America' part. It's listed, but they can't order them.
