    Default 1jz gt3540

hi, all i in the process of chagning from twin gt17 to a gt35/40 with .82 rear, aftermarket intake, sard 800cc wolf v500 ecu, bla bla bla

this is in a soarer, now i have the option to get a set of hks 264 cams? would this make my car even laggier? or is a 35/40 and 264 a great combo/
i have cam gears, but yeah just wondering if it will be shocking cause the guy with cams has t3gs and said it is shocking unless you retard it a bit, anyway what your thoughts
here is a pic of the current setup

    Go the 264's!

If you want to get the air in there an open valve sure helps

Laggy? Just stick it on the transbrake at traffic lights...

Honestly however, having never stuck a 3540 on a twin cam 2.5L I cannot pass proper judgement. With a pair of them on a 350 chev and 1.05 ex housings its fairly laggy from a standstill start without stalling it up or transbraking it.

If it was my daily driver I would be looking for the .6x exhaust housing for that turbo and it should spool up nicely.

    Cheers

Im told that a 3540 on a stock 1j should see 16psi around 3700, thats with a 6boost manifold though, so maybe a bit laggier for a ebay mani etc...

I'd like to get some cams and gears at some point too, so i'd be interested to know whcih cams you go with

    Cheers,

SPoilt's soarer has an R154 in it, so no stall or trans brakes for him

Hmmm... Then that could be the clutch switch activated 2-step rev limiter!
