Default Dyno and Weigh day #2 (Power vs Weight) - 22/3/09

Hey gents and sexy lady (hoping for atleast one )

I'm thinking it's due time to hold another one of these events in light of how good a response I received from the last one. I wont set the date in stone at this time, but would like input on what would suit everyone. At this stage i'd be aiming for end of February (ie. 22nd of Feb, or 1st of March).

Shall be a similar setup as previous with a few extra additions to make it even better. Things like food and drinks shall be made available so folks don't have to drive around the corner to get lunch. Might even do some breakfast hahaha! If you have any ideas, let me know, would be really helpful. Anybody who is free to assist, managing the scales or moving things around is always appreciated!

Trophies from the previous dyno/weigh day will be handed out so people can golf clap to make the wieners feel specials

For those who didn't make it last time, there is a projector setup so you can view your, and other cars power outputs on the dyno in real time. Printouts of both kW+AFR and kW+torque are available upon request from the operator.

Other improvements I plan to make are proper laser printer printouts of your cars weight at all four corners, plus a nice little chart with front/rear bias and some other crap i'll think of.

Best news of all, Brian from Racetec has a brand new "Dyno Dynamics" dyno which has replaced the earlier one from the previous dyno day. I'm sure it's better somehow!.. It looks nice for sure.

This time I promise no mishaps... FWD cars will not be all capped at 87kw atw (sorry again Huy ) and what else... there was something... oh yeah... nah I was hoping after saying that i'd remember... hmm... Oh yeah!! I'll have the trophies for the winners of this day available on the day hehehe.

Hope to hear from you folks!

    James

I missed out on getting the 5K-Z done in time last one so im in.
made 98rwkw on 8.5psi just prior to chrissy. Needs another 4-5deg of advance and find that missing 4psi and it should make over the 100.

is there going to be a fan for FWD cars? or any ventilation at all? or just straight up against the wall?

I'll have a chat with Brian about the issue and get back to you. I suspect the main problem is physical space. MIght be able to poke the fan around the side to get some air, shall see

I wanna be at this, I will be bringing Hen's newly modified Sprinter for him while he is in Denmark, I also hope to have my freshly blacktopped sprinter there. As far from now as possible will be the best as I have to finish blacktop convo as engine shit itsefl in the shed and I need to fix Hen's car before I can drive it further than around the block

Any Huy, its time to come to terms with the fact that you made the bad choice to own, even modify, a FWD car. Harden up mate

May I point out that Jez is freely offering to fix my car while I'm out of the country to try and get it to this event. Clearly Jez = legend.

And hopefully there'll be two Sprinters on down.

    Depending on the dates,

I'll go with my car and change the exhaust (to a large shiny one) to see if it makes a difference to my cars over all torque and power...

    Cheers.
