    Default caliper wieght on mx83

just wondering if anyone has some standard mx83 brake calipers with pads and a set of rotors if they could weigh them, and if they have a set of r33 calipers and pads and a set of falcon rotors to go on can they weigh them aswell.

just wondering what the weight difference is

    cheers

    Hey,

I have the same interest about watching the weight of my car, and although for different reasons to yours, it would have the same benefit. While i dont have MX83 brakes, I have got the upgrade and here are the results:

Single R33 caliper with all pins, shims, pads with decent meat - 4.0kg
Single DBA standard replacement BA Falcon rotor - 9.0kg

So total upgrade (not counting hoses and centre ring) - 26kg

Look forward to anyone who puts up the MX83 as reference (although my car has slightly bigger brakes to start with so would stand to save a little more or gain less).

yea, the car will be getting a race car overhaul, massive weight reduction, better safety equipment.

now using the transbrake i dont really have a big need for big brakes, the booster is going along with the extra vacum tank.

if there is a bog difference i will go back to factory mx83 brakes, would love some light weight drag brakes but budget wont allow it this year
