was a good day out, and thanks to garth and the rest of the boys!, satying the night on thrisday night makes the day alot easier!,
yet to put my car up on the hoist and see what ive bent, besides the sidepipe, and needing a wheel allignment, from that last ripple strip,
mate bought us the oz event photo CD, so will put up some pics once i get it,
oh Dylan, love the shot of you in the trap....
Had an awesome day... I'm now famous with my photo of my spin up the hill through a cloud of dust being signed and going up in the pub in town
had a great time. On the early sessions I was getting 1:21s and dropping into the 1:20s on occasions. With Matt's Race Crono for one session after adjusting the front swaybar up to the hard notch I was getting 1:22s and seeing a noticable difference in the times dependant on how I took turn 3. I still don't have it right. I seem to put on too much turn angle for the street tyres and just scrub off speed in the turn.
Semis are now a MUST before next time. As is a brake upgrade all round as the current set-up needs so much work I may as well just upgrade the lot. Fronts heald up fine, no more seizing issues seen, but the rears were unbalanced with the right rears now dead (down to the metal and the disc quite badly scored) and the left having almost the whole pad still intact.
Cheers to Matt and Brendan for the rides in their respective cars. Brendan I would have loved to take you up on your offer of the drive buy I couldn't see my short legs being able to work the clutch effectively at all. The ride showed be the value of the semis though. A real eye openner especially with just how much time you can make up on braking.

Was awesome day despite all the problems we had..
Starting from the T18 losing the bottom radiator plug on Pennant hills road on the way down. Thanks to a mate who lives in the area who got us back on the road, ended up a 6 hour trip to Goulburn.
The trailer ramp coming lose and putting a hole in the side of the Celica (bottom of front guard).
Finally at the track the Celica broke a strut after a good spill off the track, and then dodgy Goulburn welding place fucking the thread on the gland nut thread on the said strut. Lucky someone had an arc welder there and we welded the gland nut back on and it hung together for the day.
Smashed my personal best and got a 12.2 which I was happy with.
Thanks to Garth for organising it all and everyone there who helped out and made it a good day.
Cheers
Joel

pic was taken by the Race Pix dudes at the track.
I need to organise to get a CD of the shots sent out (costs $55)
I'll give them a call on Monday.
I do have some video footage of it from inside, but again, I'll need some time to go though the vids.
I was clocked at 1:10 using dodgy timing techniques (track-side stopwatch), so I'm calling it a 1:11. Only major chances were brake pads and more use of 2nd gear (fish-hook and last corner)
cool dylan will be good to see!!!

highlight of the day? Matt and Linden's "battle of the egos", which was stopped when crownman entered the track in front of them.
unfortunately the vid of the spin did not work
the Go-Pro fell off the window during the session, I just wasn't sure if it was in the spin or before... it turns out it was before the spin by a couple of laps.
I did get vid of the early spin where I took the complete wrong line down the hill because I wasn't concentrating. I also got vid of Blake's car spinning in front of me. Will try and get them posted tomorrow.
