The 1uz would be a lot easier to fit to a ms123 than the ms65.

From what I've seen, the engine mount plates on the chassis are very close to the right position for a 1uz. The chassis is already notched in the right place for the a/c compressor. Already EFI and the ms123 uses the same fuel pump as a uzs131. The uzs131 front discs and calipers bolt straight up to ms123 stubs. Also, I have been told, not confirmed, that the uzs131 digital gauge cluster will fit in the ms123???

If I didn't already have the ms83 I would have chosen an ms123 to convert to v8.

BTW if anyone can suggest how to upload photos I can show what I have. When I try to upload pics I get a message that they exceed the allowable size limit.

Sean, I used a VN Commodore steering rack. I used Hiace stub axles and steering arms, that way I could get the disc brakes I needed. I reckon a 1UZ in an MS123 would be the ants pants.

Essentially it's a 1966 Crown MS46 station wagon. I dropped a 1UZFE and A340 from a UZS131 halfcut into it (custom mounts, fuel and wiring using the standard ECUs) because I killed the 4M that was in it. The right bank of cylinders wanted to share the same space as the steering box so the steering box went and I shipped it off for a rack and pinion conversion (I can't weld for shit and I just didn't have the time). I fitted Hiace RH40 stub axles with 286mm XD Falcon rear rotors and PBR single pot calipers at the front. Diff was upgraded to a Hilux RN40 G series LSD with 3.9:1 gears (easiest part of the conversion - bolted straight in!!!1). Rear brakes were converted to 291mm MA70 rotors and calipers. There is a custom tailshaft. Front springs are 650 lb/in jobbies and there's a VN Commodore 27 front sway bay there now. Rear springs had an extra leaf slotted in. Using a KE30 AMI booster with VN Commodore 15/16" master cylinder. Took me about 9 months of intermittent fucking around to get it from a clunker with a BHG to a 14 second sleeper. Motor and box are completely standard. There is a truckload of machining and customising in it. I love it because it starts first go and is relatively inconspicuous. I would recommend this conversion to anyone. It rips great skids too.

Shane, you can either host your pics on www.imageshack.us or you can attach them to your post using the little doover in between the smilie face and the undo/redo arrows.

    Possibly Clivey.......

Dave-That looks like a good way to get rack and pinion into the MS-75. (been looking for suitable bits for a while now) The old Worm and Ball system is a bit hairy at 130mph plus.

I took some more pics today and followed the link GT put up, so I will see how they go.

These are the links to some of the pics.

Looking forward at clearance to the left upper control arm. Right hand manifold misses the steering box by about 10mm.

Driver's side engine mount. I ended up using Hilux urethane mounts, but it is still set up to put the originals straigh back in if necessary.

    Engine bay from driver's side.

Passenger engine mount from underneath. (Only way to see it)

Gearbox crossmember. 1978 model MS85 crosmember fits perfectly.

A bit hard to see, but, this is the clearance for the A/C compressor. That's why you need to notch the chassis.

That should give you an idea of how it fits.

    Cheers,
    Shane.
