If you're adding a condensor, maybe it would be better just to replace the old one with a better one from a different car.
Hey guys,
Obviously the size/thickness of an aircon condensor has a lot to do with its efficiency (also design/etc), but how does one make an older condensor better?
Will putting one infront of the other make it better?
Would you put them in parallel or series?
I'm thinking series with the gas running through the back one first, and then the front one.
Just tossing up some ideas in my head, would love to get comments.

Thats definitely an option and something I am going to look into, but it all depends what fits.

I'd try to look for a parallel flow core...

Hi,
Replace the older condenser with a slightly larger one. Or just put a thermo fan on the older one if it doesn't have one. Thermo fan is a good option especially if you have things like front mount inter coolers that block the airflow off to your condenser.
Just replacing the condensor with a larger one is easier said than done, as they normally fit in a specific area.
Adding a second one of identical dimensions would be easier than that installing a larger one.

Yeah good point cruzida, if you can make the larger one fit without any hassles then that's the go, but to save the hassle would be better to get a identical one and put a thermo on to help during low speeds.
don7t they usually have a fan that comes on when the aircon is on anyway?

OC, some do some don't.
Sometimes when converting from R12 to R134a Thermo fans are sometimes added to make up for decreased efficiency. I find that most cars with a R134a System have a thermo fan.
