Default 3tgte oil pump into 2tg

i am about to put a 3tgte oil pump into my 2tg and i noticed that the pickup is shaped differently, does anybody know if i can just swap the pickups?
    Thanks, Josh

just tried and the pickups are not interchangeable. will i have any problems if i use the 3tgte pickup and pump in my sump or will it not pick up the correct amount of oil?

That's very strange, SeptemberSquall used a 3T-GTE oil pump in his hybrid. I have the 2T-G, 3T-GTE and the BRD one with a bigger pump gear and spacer plate. The 3T-GTE oil pump is just a tad bit shorter.

edit: I just tried then and the 3T-GTE fits my 2T block with the sump on.

yes looks like it all fits, i was just worried about the shorter pick up location? the pump i have i was told was a 3tgte pump but it has no spacer plate? it is just a 2 piece main unit just like my 2tg pump. the impellor is the same size in both only the depth of it are different to the 2tg.

give us a pic of the 2, they are usually the same looking (except for the internal gear height and associated housing), it would not be a 3'S'gte would it, people do get these confused, but i have never seen the 3s one b4

thanks heaps w810sc i have definately replaced my 2tg pump with a 3tgte, so if i had the spacer plate as shown on the brd racing pump, i could use a standard 3tgte pump with the longer 2tg pick up because it would clear the impellor? not that im going to do this but i now understand what the spacer plate is for.
    Thanks, Josh

Disregard this if I got you wrong...

The spacer plate on the BRD pump is specifically to allow taller pump gears to be fitted internally. Taller gears gives more surface area, hence more oil volume.

If you were to attempt to fit a spacer in the 3TGTE pump without taller gears the result would be no oil pressure at all!

    Cheers,
    Jason
