shaz if you're realllllllyyy serious about getting a V8 in there, id be looking at the ICV option

i hear its fraught with dramas, isnt cheap, and requires lots of work... but its an option. one that im going to be getting balls deep into someday with one of my old cars

seriously though, i doubt its possible, as far as i've known for a while its been 2.5NA and 2.2 FI for KE30/KE55.

    re ICV
"these vehicle smust comply with current design and safety standards, as well as meeting recognised standards for strength and controllability"

apparently gingerbeer has power to approve if you meet the "intent" of the CURRENT saftey and design standards (ie, don't need crash test.. but in some cases, may still need one)...
but.. ICV for a modified production car = pain good luck!

I'm sure almost anything can be made legal if you want to make it an ICV (Individually Constructed Vehicle)

Will not be cheap to engineer tho.

umm depending on who's weights you believe, a 1UZ is around 40-70kg lighter than a JZ, plus being considerably shorter would give the car better balance...

The best way to get a fully legal V8 Corolla???

Shift to NZ and then you can put a blown big block Chev in it and drive to the shops anytime you want to.
