i wonder what it would cost to buy one of those old engineered and legally registered V8 rollas?
30K? 40K? having the paperwork increases its value by juust a little
is YLDTOY still registered or just burnout car now?
(there may be the option of rebodying something like a hilux with a KE55 body tho)

i'm pretty damn sure that YLDTOY aint registered as alot of the firewall is missing and it regularly catches on fire during it's burnout demos.which is also all it does now as far as i know
looks a bit sad after powercruise...
LOLTony DeOliveria (YLDTOY) may not have won the powerskid however you have to give him a big thumbs up for trying. Tony covered well over 400m in his powerskid before losing control of his blown bigblock corolla and side swiping a water barrier at over 200k’s. Luckily he was unhurt and 20 minutes later was found competing in the Off Street Drags.
Your search - Tony De Oliveira yldtoy registered - did not match any documents

i belive the shitty rover v8 is all u can put in there unless there is a smaller v8 ???
you cant register a ke with a commo motor. i think they are 3.8 litre ?
thats .2 of a litre off legal.
yeah 3.8 lt buckets of crap lol
Try a 4V old Toyota hemi V8. They're 3.4 litres.
are you considering selling it in 2 months time tho?![]()
buick 215, alumium block, 3533cc capacity, rated up to 150kw from the factory-now all you have to do is find one- and since your looking why dont you try and track down one of those old school small capacity racing v8's? honestly this is a tough question especially when people are getting 4-500hp out of a 1j or equivalent which would go in easier, be cheaper, etc etc etc etc
GA23(never finished-now with cracked block) JZX83 (Tyre eater) 3sgte AE86. by now i should know better.
850kg
current rules
NA= 2.55L
FI = 2.12L
NCOP (not in force yet?)
NA=3.4L
FI=2.33L
1G is ok for turbo.
old yota 4V just scrapes in IF NCOP is in effect, AND the RTA's weight is actually 850, and not 840kg or less
1JZGTE? no
1J/2JZGE? yes
big block? no
350/351? no
1UZ? no
rover, no
$40,000 H1V8, yes
V6 whore motor? no
holden 202 6? yes
call the RTA and find out what their weight is for the KE55. that will determine if you can ptu in a 4V or not..
alternatively, you could sleeve and destroke a different V(???

Jaguar/daimler mk2 2.5L V8. All alloy fire ball!
Will sound the way you want, but need some mods as they are 140hp stock.
Sr20det for cheap, legal power?

Went and visted my engineer today and sussed out regulations and what not. He said he would engineer a 3.8L Commo engine, as long as i welded weights into the car to make it a bit heavier, and upgraded brakes, suspension and stiffened the chassis by at least 25%. He also said a structual rollcage (At least 6 point) will have to be permently fitted, with foam padding. He said that is the only way to make the car legal and driveable. He's done the conversion before for someone, and even said i *could* supercharge it, but it has to be N/A when he passes it.
The other option he gave me was to get one of them new VZ 190kw Alloytec 3.6L V6 engines (as found in the new VZ) which wouldnt require AS much work, and will make more power. Unsure on what a Engine + Auto combo is worth though, and if it would even fit.
Time to break out the tape measure, and start sussing out prices and whatnot.
Both these conversions can be made 100% legal, just for your information.![]()
hahahahha
is he an RTA approved engineer? who is he? he must be on the list of approved ones on the RTA site right?
6 point is a no go in NSW. and even so, there is not enough headroom in KE30 for front bars....
adding weights to make it heavier for purpose of putting bigger engine in is no go.
are you sure he knows what he is talking about? is he going on NCOP or on current rules??
just check with a certified RTA engineer beore setting out on a ship of fail
(of course i am happy to be proven "misinformed".. but there are some things an engineer can approve, but not legally...)
EDIT: Just so we are clear on this, is he going by current RTA rules, or NCOP rules? is he approving it as a modified production vehicle or an individually constructed vehicle?
