I can get a vvti, bellhouse to fit my 58, new fly / plate, and all accessories, in my 28 and running for a few hundred less than 4g, and with warranty ( however limited)
thats with me doing the entire conversion, and barring any gremlins and murphy.

that fly, plate, and probably box will not handle the power you would require to be competitive with a 1g with 5k spent on it.

Such said 1g will run into the 11's....

i think 1j is a better motor - but i think the 4k vvti is a serious compromise, that to do anything with later will cost another 3-4 k before you could wind the wick up.

all i can say is do it, prove it.
i was told u cant run a single turbo 1g on a factory computer - apparently i could and it ran hard. i had an autronic here and was looking at pouring 5k into that motor..... i decided to sell that package to fund my 1j ambitions.... but 10k is closer to the number i am looking at.....
