    Default 4agze pulley kit

I'd like to hear from people who have fitted a pulley kit to their 4agze's. I've heard that running more boost causes the lift off throttle response to be worsened. I've even heard someone tell me that when you lift off the throttle it takes about 3 seconds before the engine actually stops revving.

Please tell me this is bull crap because I'm tempted to grab an NST pulley kit to bring the boost up to about 13psi.
Also, will the T50 be able to handle this?

myne used to have a little delay on the decel but i actuly liked it becuase the revs wouldnt drop as fast when i changed gear's.
you can prolly fix it by adding a fully sic bov replacing the abv, but it was only the tinyest delay 1 second max .
i dont have a funny or cool signature.

couldn't really notice it on my engine with cusco oversized crank pulley. If I did it again I'd go for a smaller supercharger pulley instead.

what's your reasoning behind this? I'm thinking about the NST pulley which brings boost up to 13.5psi

The throttle response problem is more likely to be related to the length of your intercooler piping. I ran a 13psi with my old GZE with a T50 behind it and i blew 4 gearboxes drifting. If your nice to it on the street it should be fine.

By changing the actual charger pulley you're not overdriving the waterpump and you're retaining the nice stock dampened crank pulley which is much better for your bearings.

i had a outer poly rib ring machined up to go over my standard machined down 4agze puley, that way i kept my dampner and i had over 13 psi.

The nst kit has the crank pulley as well as water pump pulley and tensioner so it won't over drive those other components. They also offer just a supercharger pulley but then I'd lose the magnetic clutch. They're both the same price so it's a tough choice but I'm leaning towards the larger crank pulley.

Are you aware its a smaller water pump pulley? So it will actually spin this even faster.

Doesn't actually specify what size the water pump pulley is here http://www.nonstoptuning.com/pKitToyMR2GZ.htm

I would have thought that the whole point of including a new water pump pulley would be so that it would have the same speed as the standard unit

Pulleybros do a range of clutched and unclutched pulleys for the supercharger.

A smaller water pump pulley + tensioner is provided, so the oversized pulley doesnt hit them.

Go stick your head under the bonnet, and you will see what I mean.

    cheers

Never even heard of pulleybros untill this thread. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/103mm-Clutche...742.m153.l1262

Looks the goods. Looks like it bolts over the clutch of the original one from the pics. Thanks for that, I think I know what I'm going to do now

indeed. i've tried both smaller s/c pulley and the larger crank pulley set-ups, the smaller s/c pulley IMO was more aggressive/responsive. read... much better.
