ae86 power steer rack ends alternative?

need to replace a rack end for rego, however i have an import ae86 with power steering, does anyone know of a part from a different car that may fit correctly or alternatively where i can get one in a decent time frame (ie not shipped from japan!)?

What thread? they should be the same as an AE71 etc but id have to check the length.

i have a rack here so ill check it tomorrow as i need to fit up new boots to it.

Think they go for around 150-200 bucks but they're local and you can get them fast

I'd make a post in the part numbers thread on the site in that link though, someone will look it up for you or may know if another rack end will fit.

The zenki racks use the same ends as manual steering AE86s, KE70s and AE71s

Kouki ones are less common and will require more effort to find.

what the fuck is Kouki and Zenki? we are in Australia why not say early or late model?

八六 owner says 前期 and 後期 　(or they wish they could )

then again, the yanks all say it, and the importers all say it...

前 = "mae" or "zen" = early, or before
後 = "ato" or "kou" = after or behind/rear

期 = "ki" = period of time

so zenki is early, and kouki is late.....
maybe you can remember it as "old people get kooky with age"

Japan is awesome just need to get to more car events, plus get the the TE27 tuner garage near here

on topic... so what year did it swap from early to late model? the toyodiy site seems to list them both for all years (that i could be bothered to check?)

anyway, did the aeeedeeem AE86 ever get late model jap parts?

Sorry, I'm just used to saying it like that from the AE86 forums.

Basically Zenki is 83-85 and Kouki is 86-87 (In AE86 terms)

Although some late 85's are Kouki, from memory it changed in August of 85 offically.
