Toyota EPC says 33348-35010 for JZZ30 R154 for example...
A cross reference gets a lot...and they are all the same...
'Martin Crawler' are meant to make an upgraded 1st gear thrust washer?

Hi guys ...
after speaking to a knowledgeable toyota guru ... i just wanted to confirm a few details and get a few opinions
- is there a difference between the early supra r154 model gearboxes and the later model chaser jzx100 r154 gearboxes internally? in particular, the thrust washer?
- if there is no difference at all, is it worth while to replace the thrust washer with, what i heard is the usual route, a "landcruiser" item?
- what is the usual cost for such a job?
Cheers

Hey Will, after speaking to d0ng when he had his box rebuilt I was of the impression that the earlier 154s had a different thrust washer from factory and that's why an update to the current part was considered an upgrade. Confirm/deny?

Matt,
Not sure, all I can say is that I see 8701-8801 MA70 and MZ20 on the list, and that's the earliest things that I can think of that came with R154?
Cheers
Wilbo
But wouldnt the EPC be updated if new parts were assigned to older cars? looking at the list there you've obviously got a fairly recent version...

What they do in every other case I've seen is simply make a new part number, and then put "SUBS" with the new part number when you look up the old part number

Furry muff. Ive found a few sites referencing a Toyota made chromoly version of the old cast item, but no part numbers and I cant be bothered looking harder![]()

oh man this is doing my head in ... decisions decisions .. what to do![]()
Expensive bit of piece of mind.... I'd be trying to find out if the JZX100 came from factory with a chromoly washer before ripping it to bits

Can any1 please confirm whether or not the jzx100 gearbox came from factory with a chromoly washer?
