All you need to do that is change the oil filter on the 7A, if someone's done it up too tight then you're guaranteed to lose skin over it.Originally Posted by wa5

Hi Guys,
Just to give everyone the resolution to this. I started at the beginning to the problem, the latches inside the car. Well upon undoing the 2 screws that hold in the housing and latches the problem was plain to see, I'm clearly too strong
The plastic pivot point for the cables had snapped off the mounting, so the latches were pulling, well nothing. Plastic fatigue I suppose.
Anyway a new one from Toyota is $142AUD, might see if I can stop by a pickies on the way somewhere and get one cheaper, if not, well I better get it as I'm always keeping my car in top shape, can't have the missus pulling on cables to open the fuel cap....
Least I didn't have to pull the boot apart...![]()
do you need the latch or the whole latch, cable & everything?
If you just need the latch thingo you might be able to get one from a earlier Corolla, AE92 or even KE70
