    Default Help and info on KE70 Axle Seal Install

    Hey peeps im about to whack in some axle seals to my ke70 just wondering if were looking at the assembly and or if im going to need a press for bearings or anything or if its just pull brake drum cylinder off and undo the bolts and its behind there. Anyone done this before?

    1. drum off
    2. undo the 4 axle retaining bolts
    3. undo brakeline to the wheel cylinder
    4. pull out axle
    5. pop the seal out

    installation is the opposite but dont forget to bleed the brakes.

    Why do you need to do that? Doesn't the bearing come through the backing plate?

    As a guess the bearing plate doesn't clear the wheel cyl...

    my bad, havn't touched a stocker in about 3yrs. no need for backing plate or brake line to be removed, therefore no need to bleed brakes either

    so no press needed for this job i can do it in my driveway right? loose fit bearings??? cheers heaps

    An axle puller helps, especially if it's the first time the bearing is coming out... Can take quite a bit of effort to get them to budge sometimes, but yes, loose fit.

    Just changing the seals its pissing all over the inside of my wheel gonna do the rear brakes and cylinders too just needed to know if i had to press any bearings off to change the seals or anything cause then i would have to take it to the workshop. Id would rather just do it in the drive. Cheers for the help peeps.

    btw dont you just crank the drum on the studs backwards and wamo
