nice work mate, should help plenty of ppl in the future.
Instrument Panel
- lights ground is for the dash lights, and so it goes to the dimmer resistor.
- oil/charge/etc 12v means ignition 12v
- lights 12v means accessory or battery 12v (whichever way you want to wire up lights)
Speedometer/Tachometer
- lights ground is for the dash lights and is again resisted.
- the unused pins were not wired up in my case and following the paths on the board they were never meant to be as the connections have not been drilled out. did any celica ever have a digital speedo?? if not, what would be a possible use for these connections to the speedometer?
- tacho signal means to the negative (-) terminal on the coil
Pilot Lights

+rep for the good info. A few things tho. The resistor to ground idea is used so that a common positive can be run. In this manner, a short circuit to ground on the resistor will result in the lights coming on, rather than a spark. Anything that is separately grounded is done so for a reason. There are inrush currents on some items which can interfere with the operation of others. As such it is best not to bundle grounds which are originally separate. Other than that, great info, so pos rep for the help to others.

yeah i was thinking today i should probably try and stick pretty close to the original design (where there's no need to change it).Originally Posted by o_man_ra23

Tacho 3 - if it goes to the positive of the ignition coil, then this is not your ignition pulse (ie, tacho signal)

Cant believe I didnt see this earlier, I yanked my dash out yesterday in the vein hope that I might be able to get my tacho working with my wolf3d, but just ended up pulling everything out. Might look into getting my dash lit up, very very dim at the moment, anybody ever used any good remidies?
well i'm ordering some new narva dash lights.. and combined with new wiring and cleaning everything up it will hopefully make things a little more visible.Originally Posted by WindeX
i wouldnt get my hopes up too much... upon inspection of the plastic housings and where the dash lights go, i think the only way to get a significant increase in brightness would be to drill out some of the baffles inside there or put in some reflective surfacing.
part no.....description
49804.......5mm twist-lock wedge globe holder
49806.......10mm twist-lock wedge globe holder
47286.......5mm wedge globe
47501.......10mm wedge globe
there are 4 x 10mm globes/holders in the instrument panel, and 3 in the speedo panel.
there are 3 x 5mm globes/holders in the pilot light panel, and 1 x 5mm globe behind the park brake warning light. this has a different twist-lock holder - don't throw this one out because narva don't make this style
the A/C and defrost switches also use 5mm twist-lock style globes.. (1 each)
there was another 10mm bulb behind the analog clock if youre going to put that back in, but i can't remember what type of globe holder it was in.
you can order some silicon globe sleeves if you want to pimp things up. not really my thing, they will only make lights dimmer anyhoo.. but i had to mention it
the BEST thing you can buy from narva is the halogen headlight conversion kit..
part no 72048 = high/low beam kit, 72058 = high beam kit

that crapola chrome spray paint when applied as per instructions to the inside of your guages will brighten things up heaps. Did this with mine 3 years ago, and its bright as with the original wiring and old dodgy bulbs.

Yeah, the chrome stuff looks crap to the eye, and is a pain in the hole to spray (you need super light coats otherwise it will run like theres no tomorrow) but it reflects quite well. Make sure you pull ALL the guts outta your guage before you spray, and spray away from your other equipment, else you will have a funny speckling effect on your guages that you didnt have before
