    edit: Vin91 programing is easy, get a cordless drill (should spin at 800 rpm well mine did anyway) get a little square thingy that drives the speedo and stick that in the drill, then "drill" the back of the speedo record the speed shown, then do that with the electronic one record its speed shown and adjust the pulse frequency accordingly so the two display will match.

    also thats another method of testing whether its your gauge or your cable -> gearbox bits
    already been done, had it in at an autoelectrician not to long ago, and i had them check it out. thats what they did, he said when he had his drill into it it said it was doing 200k/h.

    he said that i should just replace the speedo.

    his drill could be spinning faster, heaps faster so if you have a cordless drill and it spins at 800rpm speedo should read ~80km/h
