    Hey Bazooka, the tailshaft is 2 piece.. Do you think it could be mounted between the too halves? But then not sure how you'd mount the caliper as it would have to mount to the body and be too much movement?

    Range rovers have a handbrake on the tailshaft. Might be worth a look see.
    They are a ratcheting system though ie not meant for use as an emergency brake.

    How far along the bus is the joint between the 2 halves of the tailshaft?
    Does this also mean that there is some kind of mount to the body at this point?
    It would be easier to do it at that point ensuring you had enough ground clearance (ramp over angle)

    There is around 1 metre of shaft before the joint to the rear half. At this point it mounts to the floor in a bearing/rubber donut. On the other side / rear half of the shaft / there is a slip yoke too.

    How do you reckon i'd find out if the rubber donut at the back of the 1uz auto box would be able to carry a disc rotor handbrake type arrangement? In terms of strength and not damaging it.
