Default conversion help with mz21+1jz :o

    hey all

just a quick post, ive been asking around to get the right info from somone,

im putting a 1jz into my z20 as everyone does but ive gotten parts from all different places and just got confused so this is what i hve

    1986 mz21 soarer
unknown year jzz30 soarer 1jz engine box loom etc etc
    ma70 crossmember,

now ive been told that with a jzz30 1j, and a 86ish model z20 and a ma70 crossmember, that i will need standard 7m-gte mounts so it fits in, the only difference with my old member and my new one is about 30-45mm of height, with the ma70 one being the lower one and its now installed as ive found that it had noeathan rubbers all thu it so yeah

thanks for the help in advance

for a starters do a search

    ma70 and mz20 crossmembers are the same, u need a jza70 crossmember or a post 89' ma70/mz20 xmember.

U will also need jza70 alloy engine mounts

    Shoulda bought a halfcut

well the crossmember i have in there now, the ma70 one is about a 85ish i beileve, i got it from a mate that got it from soarer21 (john) who said its what he would need for this model soarer and engine,

and thanks for the mounts info mate, im just not totaly sure is all

and i should of gotten a half cut but at this point in time, this car and engine combo has earnt me 500 instead of being owed over 4k so im happy to fuck around for a little bit lol

dude, you need either an 89+ MZ20 or MA70 cross member, thats the end of that, whatever anyone else has told you, is horse shit.

you NEED that specific cross member.

I'd just like to add that as well as the 89+ xmember, and the jza70 alloy mounts, you'll also need 89+ rubber mounts.
