Chris? does this setup pressurize you fuel tank or not? If not, does it have something to avoid it?

    Not sure?

I haven't got this setup at the moment.

I just have an intake 040 and one line out and one return line.

Well,...I'm thinking about using the same setup 12x 380cc injectors.

Not sure how much room you have between the inlet manifold and the strut tower, but what I plan to do is mount another lower inlet manifold segment up against the existing lower inlet segment.

The lower inlet manifold segment is the segment that the injectors mount into...

That way you can use the stock rail and everything and simply modify the first lower manifold. The lower manifold that bolts to the head needs to be modified slightly as the other one that bolts up to it will need clearance for the flow out of the injectors.

If any of that makes sense I will take some pics....!

    Cheers
    Wilbo

it shouldn't pressurise the tank if you have a proper fuel cap - plus the charcoal cannister should also allow tank to 'vent' while the engine in running.

    cheers,

Chris if you are still running the original Corona tank then it will be a 62 litre tank which is the same for all XT 130 Coronas.
    Cheers Brett.

Here is what I was thinking.

You can see how a section needs to be taken out of the existing section that bolts to the head to allow for the spray of the second injector. Then gusset over the removed section and weld together.

I think it will work well...

    Cheers

so you want to use 2 stubs and rails then? How would you get the inlet manifold on? I wouldn't think there would be long enough studs coming out of the block.

Yep, two stubs and two rails.

Use longer bolts / studs to bolt it up (rocket surgery eh!)

Isn't that going to leave more room for leaks and lengthen the runners?

I wouldn't have thought it would induce any more leaks as long as normal gaskets were used. Longer runners definitely. May be a good thing though?

Wilbo, mate that is rocket surgery! How much extra room do you have on that side? It would fit in my car but leave a little less room between strut tower.

Weld the two together, that will remove the chances of leaks there.

Some quick research into runner length and FI netted me very little info. I proposed that there might be a slight low end tourqe gain (esp off boost), and a corresponding top end loss. I really don't know tho. If you could offer some insight then that wouldbe tops.

I think I have enough room chris, but that is me going by eye more than anything...Another thing to check that the loom that goes to the inlet manifold (TPS, ICVS) is long enough in my case (not an issue in yours with Microtech!), and also lengthen (or remove!) the water lines to heat the throttle body.

    Cheers

MS75 has some good info. on the runner length. IIRC he changed from short runner to long runner with the new plenum.

How do you plan on wiring up 12 injectors? MsnS can do that?

I hadn't got that far. I was initially just going to run them in parallel wiht the existing ones. They are high impedance so the MS or Microtech shouldn't have a drama with that. That assumes that they will still be able to meet idle opening times without running too rich....

    Otherwise you could stage them.

I'll drop MS75 a pm and see what he can offer.

    Cheers
    Wilbo
