Getting him to spend a couple of minutes extra writing his posts, checking for grammer/spelling errors, making it make sense, etc, would help a lot more.
Most of the time if you don't understand a post within a few seconds you don't bother replying.
If the poster is not going to put the effort in to asking a sensible and legible question, why should I bother putting the effort in to understanding and answering it ?
