Just on BOV's and AFMs, the 1g has a flapper style AFM, If a BOV was used and plummed in between AFM and turbo, when the bov does blow its load, will the pressure release from the bov force the AFM closed or am I on the wrong track completely?

    Doesn't, can't and won't happen.

To close the flap upon venting would mean the bov is capable of purging a volume great enough to "fill" and partially pressurise the inlet tract from TB to AFM. Not likely to happen is it .

Add to that fact the volume of gas the BOV vents is only going to be a small proportion of the total volume being ingested by the engine means the above can't happen.

I have run a vane type airflow meter with plumb back BOV with no ill effect what so ever so you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks shane. I wasnt fully aware that a bov didnt vent the total volume, now knowing that it does make sense.

It just a pressure release valve venting the excess pressure created between the compressor and TB when the TB snaps shut, nothing that can forcibly close the vane on the AFM.

The vane on the AFM would be swinging shut at that point anyway as you've closed the TB.

Vent to atmosphere and see what it's like Nice if you like fuel smoke plumes out the exhaust on gear shifts and possibly some backfiring.

The 1g had a atmo venting bov when I got it, first thing I did was remove it.

What you said ala the vane closing because throttle body has been shut also makes perfect sense.
