I've just bought an MZ20 with a BHG, and I'm just wondering if anybody's doing a headgasket repair job in Melbourne atm, or starting one soon?
I'm interested in coming along and giving a hand just to familiarise myself with the process and such, so I can get started with mine atsome point in the future and not be quite so new to it all.

Yeah, I've read it through a couple of times, just thought if someone was doing a hg repair in Melbourne, they'd be happy for an extra set of hands, and I'd benefit from the experience before I attempt it solo.
Your thread is pretty well fantastically documented though, it'll be a great help
Plus it's quite reassuring int he instance that I buy it off you =P
just jump in and do it. i'd recommend however that you take the whole engine+gbox out, it's much easier to build an engine when your not breaking your back leaning over the side of the car.
freshen up the bottom end too, coz it's quite likely that the bearings have been getting hammered from the chocolatey goodness swirling around your oil system.
Just looking to give someone a hand, and give myself an idea of what to do though. I would say my mechanical skills would be on the poor side of the scale, and while I'm a quick learner, I don't wanna fuck shit up too badly =P
If there's no one doing a BHG repair atm, I'll just get straight into it, and you'll know about it by all the threads in the techroombut I just think if I can help someone out, it'll help me out too
*edit*And I come from a family that's not too mechanically minded, and most of my friends are either into just steering their auto boxes around, or are into holden's of some sort. So haven't even got that much support anywhere except the intarwebs, and that's not exactly real life =P
I'm going for it, I've bought this car, but I'm just really looking to make it easier for myself![]()
i just did my cometic head gaskit...but my engine is on a stand....its only a long block at the moment...
mate i started with TSRM as a guide and took photos before i took stuff off.
