    Default Konig Rewinds onto Ta22

    hey all,
just a quick question... just wanted to know if the konig rewinds, which have the right stud pattern, but with an offset of -9mm would fit on my ta22. the catch is that i have done the pub\hilux\peg brake upgrade on the front, and i am unsure of the offset that it changes it to.
    thanks in advance

We need a bit more info dude, eg how wide are your mags and how much did your mods change the offset? Best thing is to measure it yourself.
If a wheel is say 8 inches wide with a +10mm offset, it means the centre of the wheel will be +10mm from the centre of the wheel. Eg Wheels with + offset are shallow dish (more room between edge of wheel and wheel arch) while deep dish wheels usually have -mm offsets and the outer edge is closer to the outside of the car.

If they are 7 inch I don't think they will fit will a -9mm offset. From memory stock offset for a TA22 is +32mm....Having said that there is room to move from stock.

    Cheers,
    Simon

When I did that same brake upgrade on my RA23, I seem to remember that it increased the front track by a (massive!) 10mm overall, which was not worth worrying about when it came to choosing bigger wheels, as whatever would fit would fit anyway. Hope this helps.

are the konig rewinds with the -9mm offset the 14x7's?
    i know there's 15x7's with a 0mm offset....
BUT an important thing, you're not allowed to get konig rewinds (especially in graphite/gun metal with a polished lip) because i want to get them for my TA22 one day and i wanna be original! but dammm they look hot!

The problem with the Hilux upgrade is that the hilux calipers have that little nodule between the pistons on the outer face. This interferes with a lot of wheels, ill try and snap a pic next time im near my race car.

    Hey all
Talking with the wheel shop i have learnt that the konig will not fit. i made the mistake saying that the 15" have an offset of -9 when they actually have a zero offset. With the peg/hilux/corona upgrade the offset will be pretty much the same as an original celica, which according to the wheel shops book of offset, is about 25 to 27p. however seeing those sexy pictures of the red celica still raises questions, like how the fark? in any case the only avaliable rim that will fit the car is this rim
    http://speedywheels.com.au/images/zoom/sirocco2.htm
i am sorta a bit iffy about these rims, but also because i don't really have an eye for what is good rims on a car. so any opinions about the rims, or how they manage to get the konig rewinds on the celica would be most appreciated

Nah even 0 offset will fit fine. I think you need to find a new wheel shop, as they are trying to sell you crap.
+12 offset Superlites will fit fine:

0 offset Hotwires will fit similarly, just in 14" as they are my race wheels.
Im using the Hilux/Pug/Corona upgrade anyway, and the only issue i was having was with the disc being a bees dick away from the lower control arm, but that was resolvable with offset RCAs.

Tyre size is just as important as rim size/offset when checking clearance, what size tyres you looking at?

I've got 205/50/15 slicks on my TA22 and they rubbed at stock ride height. I'll have to check the offset, I forgot what it is exactly...

I thought 0 offset was the way to go Andy Vangs F20C RA20 has 0 offset rims and they fit fine,I asked him what he had done and i cant remember anything significant that affected the track width..

Those rims pictured will fit atleast an inch inside the guard, the same probem im having with my car.So I intend to get 1" spacers made up to get them on the guards. Its the unfortunate part of life when owing a TA22
