On the TA22 its in the metal housing that the ignition switch mounts to. You have to drill out the bolts from memory to remove it.
G'day,
I need to disable the steering lock in my AE71 for motorkhanas, id prefer to keep the ignition just need to disable the locking pin, does anyone know where the locking pin is so i can snap it off/grind it off?

Got it,
Removed the whole housing it was inside that, there was a press in disk, drilled a hole in that and levered it out, then pulled the spring out, got the key shaft out and the lock slid right out.
Thanks
is the car stolen? cant see why you would need to modify it.
The regs for some events require it be removed/disabledis the car stolen? cant see why you would need to modify it.
