Default Help! Problem with pug/hilux/rona brake upgrade *PICS ADDED*

    g'day ..
really sorry for not searching, but im in need of quick help. Plus im on dial up and its taking aaages to search.

I've got the brake setup all assembled and just putting the pads in. I got hilux 4wd pads for an ln106 (using ln106 calipers). Now the inner brake pad is fouling with the caliper mount on the strut. THe outter pad is going in, but the inner pad won't go all the way in

is this a known problem? what should i do?
    thanks heaps in advance.

Disc look centred in the caliper? If so, the pistons might need to be pushed in further.
I'm not familiar with the hilux caliper, but the mx62 calipers require spacers to centre the caliper over the disc.

i dont think its the disc centering or the pistons....i took some pics to illustrate:

The pad goes most of the way in...just needs a few mm's but it can't....
would i not have this problem if i used performance pads? i.e. 200sx etc.

how much is it fouling by? looks like <1mm.

as long as its not a area that takes load then personally i would take a skim off with a grinder

yeah about 2mm...yeah i'll resort to grinding if no one else sees anything wrong with that...

i had same issue as you, fixed it with mr grinding wheel. no problems to report as yet doing it this way.( edit: i was using an rx7 pad when i had this problem, but i think the hilux and rx7 pads have a pretty similar footprints.
