Saw the same thing as Gary once, Tank was filled with water and had oxy waved over the filler, small crack fixed (on filler neck) and water drained, The boilermaker went back to redo the weld, because he wasnt happy with it, around a fifth of the water had been drained by this time, Bang.
A while after this a mate was cutting the tops out of 44 gallon drums (with an oxy) that had been used to store petrol. He wasnt going to worry about filling them with water first, I insisted.
By the 3rd or 4th drum he had caught up with me, and being a moron said "we dont need to screw around, this is taking too much time (to fill the drums)" and sauntered over with the lit oxy, as he waved it over the drum, I hit the deck.
The high pitched whistling sound as the expanding gas tried to force its way out of one little hole was scary. the top of the drum was domed upwards, and the mate stopped being such a gung ho dickhead........ for a while.
fortunately no one was hurt.
