Brake caliper sliding guide lube?

Ive helped a mate of mine find why he is having braking problems on his JZA70 supra. As it turns out his front left caliper is partially seized.

Upon removing the caliper it was obvious both the top and bottom sliding guides were seized. It looks like at some point in time someone has used antiseize on the top guide, and the bottom guide (sleeve) was completely dry. The antiseize on the top guide was dry and also partially seized.

Ive had someone recommend using antiseize again on the top guide which is fixed to backet the caliper mounts to, and high temp bearing grease on the bottom sleeve (which has boots on both ends and slides in and out of the caliper.

What do the people in the know out there recommend?

-Do you need to use rubber grease when working with rubber boots? or is high temp bearing grease sufficient?
-Bear in mind how hot brakes get, will normal grease melt or dry up?
-If antiseize is to be used on the top guide, can copper-eze be used as a superior product?

The toyota manual says to use rubber grease on all those parts mate, havent had any issues doing it this way. The solvent in normal grease may cause rubber used in brake seals/boots to swell.

i always just use castrol bearing grease on the the pins when servicing all cars... as long as the rubber boots are in good condition the grease shouldn't come out and in turn cease up the guides....

Been using this for about 20 years... works nicely on all the slides.

I use a Wurth product called CU800, its a high temp copper grease on any sliders we have in brakes.

Hehe so people are using all the different products i asked about, oh well cant really go wrong in that case. I though copper eze might be ok

However now im interested in that 3M product above!

toyota provide these little satchels of bright pink what looks like rubber grease in the rebuild kits if thats any help, ive always used either that or just some bearing grease

Apparently Dow Corning Molykote hi-temp grease is good stuff for caliper slides.

A tip for young players - Do not use lithium based bearing grease, it'll feel fine when you assemble but it will seize or gum up with the rubber boot/slider shortly after that.

Rubber grease - stuff was necessary for natural rubber brake system seals & hoses, but almost all new systems with synthetic rubber & makes it unnecessary and I doubt that even much of the Girling & Lockheed & Dunlop repair parts are still natural rubber.
