    Default 20v TPS? & MAP?

I have the job of wiring up 2 silver 4A-GE 20valves, one with Haltech computer, the other with blacktop computer. Both with twin coils.

The Haltech kit comes with its own TPS, and the previous technition thought this one had to be used instead of the original. (Also missing Haltech MAP sensor )

So the original TPS (throttle position sensor) is missing, and the Haltech one does not fit, without spending a massive amount of time making an adapter or something.

So has someone got a spare TPS for me, or will one off another engine fit the 20 valve?
And do you think a generic MAP sensor (say, off a AE95) will work for Haltech or stock 20v computer?

Adapting a Haltech TPS to work on TB's ins't that hard. You really need access to a lathe though. On the plus side, the Haltech unit is much nicer than the factory one. It gives much more stable results and a nicer tune.

Im currently using a 20v sensor, and have no issues whatsoever with it. The resolution of the sensor (albeit its a new one) is exactly the same as the Haltech unit when tested with a benchtop multimeter.

aren't most TPS and MAP 0-5V range?
$150 odd for a factory fitting TPS aint bad.. not as good as a Farnell special but not bad for no fiddling

how can a haltek tps be more stable

i would thik a toyota one would be more durable or less chance to fail

std toyota and nissan sensors shit on most aftermarket brands

just get the 20v and use the red yell and brown wires

map sensor is same as a holden vn v6 im pretty sure

just try find a tps of a toyota that fits from an importer

ring sss automotive in sydney they sometimes have some lying round

i might have some in my junk but its too much hassle to check now

Good point, it's also the same as a Camira (you can probably get a whole car for less than the cost of the sensor )

I donīt have experience with a Haltech, but any standalone unit that would like to be worth of being must have a TPS calibration function. These kind of devices are designed to be "universal", so using "any" TPS shouldnīt be a problem.

With my Wolf, I used a Bosch TPS at first (didnīt find the right one) with and adapter plate and then I found the one that matches my ITBs.

So, to sum up: TPS are "all" the same (electrically speaking), you must get the one that matches your shaft shape and mounting holes.
