lol ... i cannot beat that cleavage, but my skin isn't that pale

I think with early narrowband O2 sensors, one can generalise in terms of behaviour. fwiw, the mesfi crowd have used a wide range of narrowband sensors and all behave the same way.

Once you get into wideband sensors, then relationship to sensor and electronics is critical.

In the case of a stock 1G ECU, it's fair to say that any narrowband O2 sensor that provides a 0-1v output will suffice - the only challenge will be working out and hooking up heater and sensor earths.

And the non standard mounting Widebands are totally different kettle of fish you're right though.

Well I see there is a lot of argument over where any O2 Sensor will work, or that it has to be a Toyota one. To me they all seem the same, they just send a varied voltage out to the ECU.

I took mine out from my 1g-gte and here is how it looks like, and nope it doesn't have a thread, it just has a plate that is held onto the exhaust manifold with 2 bolts.

    and the plug :

i have a link to a page that helps identify various wiring configurations.

    one moment...

    O2 sensor wiring colours matrix

    how O2 sensors work.

but as per answer your other thread, The colour coding suggests that the blue wire is the sensor output, the case is the sensor earth and the two black wires a the heater and that part is not polarity specific.

    cheers,
    charles.

    Thanks,

I see that Denso Manufactures the toyota oxygen sensors, so I will try to get a Denso replacement, the only problem will be finding one that has the same flange/plate as mine, so it will fit onto my exhaust manifold

is there a reason for replacing it? These things are fairly robust.

Thanks, are those Toyota Part numbers?

TheChuckster and GA70H_92 It is really needed, my car has been constantly running rich even when warm and hesitating, I believe it is due to my oxygen sensor. I tested it with a Voltmeter, after holding the throttle at about 1500rpm for about a minute, I get 0 Volts.
