I've still got a bunch of old pictures, can't remember whether I got them from you or Pete though.

Just rebuild it stock. If you get bored with it, just whack a 7MGTE turbo and manifold on it. Run some soft boost. Should liven it up a little.

As for head bolts, try Automotive Surplus here in Mitcham (Melb).

out of curiosity, what did you do with the 21R to liven it up? or was it just so badly flogged that it only needed a freshen up?

    Hey,

Well the old 21R turned out to have 2 sets of cracked rings...
    It was well rooted.

So Putting new oversize pistions / bore etc..
    Was much happier after that.

    See Exhibit A

    An update

Engine is out and in bits.

The first culprit was a blown head gasket, next to the spark plug with
    the electrode missing.

Rebuild parts are on the way from the US from Turner Design & Racing
Will keep a log of how this goes.

I think I may need to replace the cam drive gear off the crank, this one has given me trouble before, any one have a spare handy ?

Don't be shocked by the price of a timing belt tensioner... little exxy for a bearing imho.

    12-07-08
Stripped everything down and gave it a nice clean,
    Manifolds came up super clean.
Just need the new pistons to come in so I can send the block off for boring

    5M-GE head on a 7M block is just like a 6M-GE
