    Default W58 Shifter Help

    hey guys i need some help, im in the middle of swapping my shifter on my spare gearbox to the rear mount position and want to re-bush the shifter while im at it (mine are quite worn)
    the blue insert is the bush im after, toyota are trying to tell me it has to be brought as an assembley and that that bush isent available by its self? surely it must be, does anyone have the part number?

    Toyota AE93 Corolla 20v Silvertop
    BF Mk II Xr6 Turbo Ute (tickled to 316kw)

    its cool, i spent the last 3/4 of an hour searching, isent available seperately- DOH!

    if i could get these made up would anyone be interested? i have a mate that works at an engineering joint and i may be able to get them made up on the side?

    I'd make my own so I'm not interested, but delrin might be a good material.

    True, easy to find. But you might be surprised to find that it doesn't last as long as plastic might in that application and it would probably thrash out your stick bush.

    You can always try it.

    yea true hadent thought of that, so u reacon dilrin/nylon would be the go?

    I'd give the delrin a go. I've machined a set up for swing bushes in a mates dirtbike and I tell you, they cop a dead set flogging and take it well. Smear of grease every now and again (only because they live in mud/water and occasionaly the carby overflow leaks fuel into the area).

    Should last a lifetime in that posi.

    There's a thread in the for sale section for replacement bushings for this. They require you leave the outer steel ring of the bush in place & glue it in. I have a spare kit I didn't use if you're interested.
    I ended up making my own bush out of alloy that replaces the whole , which was very easy to do, but it's only been in for a week so I don't know how well it's wearing.
