My mate put one in the rear of his 4Runner , Was a Tad noisy when engaging and what a surprise when you recieve it in the mail in a tiny box with two gears LOL.

well its a bit noisy in carparks.. (probably noisier in car than out) and sometimes engauges with a clunk when coming out of a slow turn like an intersection.. but its most definately positive drive when its goin..

That rear end flops around a bit doesn't it? Is it still the stock leaf suspension with blocks or something more?

lance: stock leaves (which are pretty heavy, but not as heavy as non-sr5 versions) and heavy duty shocks.. new ones.. no blocks.. i hate blocks.. i think it would twist the springs into pretzels if it had blocks..

i stuck a 7mgt in my 4runner and loved it...broke everything i fitted to it but loved it all the same.my only advice is have a 9" diff fitted and a built box either a a340 with big internals or mark4 poopra 6speed.have fun matey thats what its all about.......

Just picked up one of these puppies myself but unfortunately it's currently full of a warmed over 308....UZ goodness as soon as i can but sure i can pick up some tips here

Considered just putting injection on the 308? (ow ow stop hitting me dang toyota zealots)

It would be more expensive to do that than a UZ conversion. Plus, even though this engine has all the fruit (rolla rockers etc) it's still a pushrod PoS
