Thanks for confirming the manifold, thought they were the same.

First post also indicates a CT20. Doubt if it will make more than 10psi boost at all, so 9:1 should be fine if the tune is good and he has an intercooker.

If your pulling the motor apart, a set of rod bolts is cheap insurance. Remember the original ones came from a 7000+rpm motor that is possibly over 35 years old.
i would like to think the 2tg crank is made the same if not better than a 3t one? but it will be fine ether way for his uses.

yes if he does pull the motor down then i would suggest like you have to get a set of rod bolts for it.

but i wouldn't pull it down just for rods, my 3t spins to 7k 8k lots and the only thing i have broken is a pistion that i just did the other day, i also only broke pistions on another 3t running 20psi stock insides.

    cheers, dan

Thx for all your help guys!

At the moment i have no time to deal with this project cause...bought a new TA22 flatlight that was not planned but that i could not refuse...( she was going to the junkyard if i did not buy it... ) and so some cash went in the grandma ^^

Instead of this, i have some questions about the 3TGT exhaust...could someone tell me how and what to hook to each plumbing out of the turbo? I don't know where the water and oil are in/out etc.. and i have no clearly pic showing the exhaust hooked to the engine to see what goes where :/ Also, do i need to modify the sump for the oil feed or do you have a better idea? If needed i have a sandwith plate that i was planning to use for oil cooler...

And the second question is how to control boost? How to define that i want 6 or 8psi of boost? Sorry for these questions but i never worked with turbos and EFI before..

Here is a pic of the 22:

I'm also restoring my RA28 so i have not much time, i will start the TA23 GTT project when the RA28 is finished and some cash has come in to buy the EFI fuel system and MS2

I believe the 3T and 2TG crank are made just as strong as each other, the only difference is the 3T gives the longer stroke, ie. another 200cc.

Question, does the 3T-GTE exhaust manifold bolt up to the 2TG head?
I have contemplated doing a turbo conversion for my car, but too much effort time and money, to go back to standard cams from long duration, and making exhaust manifold ect.

Also I would have to adapt something up to my throttle bodies or I could use the 2TGEU EFI manifold, but then I would throw my throttle bodie setup down the drain.

But yeah interested, too see what you end up doing, keep us posted
