    Hey Wilbo,

The auto on the MX-62 was ok... Vince found a fluid leak that wasnt very obvious.

Just out of curiosity, very roughly how much did your conversion cost you? I am still very keen to do this to the GX-81 Mark II, and from what i have learnt and what you described, its effectively the same mod.

Did you get the box, bell etc locally?
    meh...

My conversion cost me ~ $0 or so.

I wrecked a SA63 for the gearbox, master, slave, lines, pedal; which I made some money out of, enough to cover the $300 custom driveshaft and the little things that were needed, as well as getting the free gear that I wanted.

The bellhousing, flywheel, clutch fork etc I sourced from a MA61 for $100 (a good buy).

Bear in mind I was very paitent and spent over 2 years collecting parts...

For a normal person I'd say u'd be up for about $900 in parts all up ($300 box, $300 driveshaft, $200 clutch / bellhousing, $100 for misc seals, etc) if you wanted to make it happen.

    Cheers
    Wilbo

I actually found that this is the problem I was having with my Cressie.Lack of fluid when tranny was hot.Filled tranny and it works a treat. So auto will be stayin in the Cressie now and the manual conversion can be put on hold and it will give me a little more time to hunt up a few more parts for the conversion. Thanks Wilbo for the run down of the conversion also.
    Cheers Brett.

Does a MX83 have a foot park brake? If so what do you do bout this when doin a manual conversion? I have this on my GX81. To keep the foot-park brake i would have a clutch paedal squarely under the steering column, and about 20mm from the brake. Unless it was UNDER the park brake somewhat. Then Ronald McDonald wouldnt be able to drive my car anymore...

Nope. Normal Park Brake in all that I have seen, none of this fancy foot park brake junk...

    Cheers
