Hi guys,

I've been trying to fix up my badly repaired LX90, and I was hoping for some advice. The previous "repairs" didn't replace the structural support for the front bar mount, which means the weight of the front bar is mostly taken by the plastic headlight mounts, which of course have snapped and made the front of the car sag down.

The original bracket is complex, so I've attempted to bodge it up as shown:

Red arrow shows where the original support would have attached the front bar to the front quarter panel.

Green arrow shows where I've added support from the front bumper.

Is this stupid? It's dawned on me that because the bumper is attached to the chassis rail, and the bar is designed to be attached to the front quarter panels instead, chassis flex may mean that the first corner I take rips these two apart.

Do any of the gurus have an opinion? Thanks heaps to anyone that can give input (I'm a total noob on body repairs.)
