    Quoted for the truth.

If yo u snap the easy out, you wont be able to dril it out again. Its the hardest metal known to man!

Use the easy out as a last resort.

10mm should be plenty for a pair of good quality vice grips

it was closer to 5mm and is now down to about 1mm because the bolt was cracking, but ive managed to chip and drill away enough at the easy out that im going to try with a smaller one and some of the loctite freezing stuff people have spoken about.

edit: nevermind its completely f****d now. given me a good excuse to fit a 1275 although it will leave me with 6 months to fit some discs on the front or find a lenient rego inspector

I need to get a few helicoils put in to repair threads for my ex. manifold studs.

I know these are generally pretty easy to do, but beacuse of the placement ( need 90 deg drill) I think I will get someone to do it.

Any idea of good people to do it in Newcastle, and any idea what it would cost?

    8 - 10 buggered threads.

yeah easy out broke, and being in the shitty mood i was in i figured either try drill it out or engine comes out anyway, instead of buying the suzuki GTi im going to look at tomorrow im going to blow the money ona reco motor instead, jsut have to decide between a sports 1100 which i can fit legally without doing a disc conversion on the front or fit a 1275 and try find a lenient pink slip person when rego is due
