Default help on 1g and 1jz models and coversions

ok well i want to put a 1g or a 1jz turbo into a KE26 shell, plan is to use it for burnouts and drags but i know nothing about them so:

whats the size difference between the two, what is cheaper to get?

is there different versions? whats easyer to use? holder together better and makes more power stock?

    whats better to modifiy?

what are there like to wire up compaird to other injectored motors?

im a mechanic and have wired up lots of carby motors/cars and a VN V6 into a datto ute with my bro, so i know some stuff.

    cheers, dan

To put it as simply as possible, the 1JZ is superior in every way: power out of the box, power potential on stock internals, aftermarket parts availability. The effort required to wire up the stock engine management system is roughly equal for both. The only real downside with the 1JZ is its size and weight; it's quite a bit bigger than a 1G and will be a tight squeeze in an early Corolla. If it's a non-registered race car though this isn't a big deal, get the grinder out and make room as required!

yeah well i really want a 2jz but there a little to much to buy at this stage, sounds like the 1jz might be the go at this stage.

and yeah not to worry about the motor fitting thats easy, compaired to the other motors i had started to fit to rolla's

    cheers for the help
